I think the Ao Dai could be 'Islamicized', obviously by not wearing a tight fitting one, try a size or two larger than your normal, and ensure that your pants fully cover your sides and legs.

I like to sew, and fortunately there are patterns available that are 'hijab' ready or that can be customized. What I like to do is wear a dress as a blouse with pants or even a skirt.
